v Central College (Pella,
Iowa) On September
4th and 5th, 2003, Creative Leaps International completed
a 2-day residency at Central College in Pella, Iowa devoted to the college’s
newly arrived freshman class.
Contributions from Creative Leaps principal artists included an opening
Concert of Ideas™ and convocation entitled The Future of Life (based on the writing
of biologist Edward O. Wilson) and workshops including “Of Color and Courage”
and “Einstein, Chopin, and the Most Beautiful Thing.”

American Institute of
Architects (Troy, New
York) On October
4th, Creative Leaps International returned once again to the
Troy Music
Hall in upstate New
York to perform for the annual national conference of
the American Institute of Architects.
Creative Leaps presented a specially designed Concert of Ideas entitled
The Architect’s Dream: Celebrating
the
Marriage of Art and Science.

Center for Excellence
in Municipal Management (Washington D.C.) In March 2004, the
principal artists of Creative Leaps International will return to Washington, D.C., for its
semi-annual leadership training workshop in conjunction with George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in
Municipal Management. See related

Peekskill School District (Peekskill, New
York) Funding from the New
York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA)
will underwrite The Learning Arts’ 17th year of residency in the
Peekskill
School District.
In this year’s residency, “Creating Freedom,” students
will explore democracy and freedom in American History through
music, poetry, and drama. The residency will
incorporate the historic mural inside the Peekskill Middle
School building that reflects such key moments as
the Gettysburg Address and Civil Rights Movement. ASA principal artists, led by
John Cimino, will work with seventh and eighth graders at Peekskill Middle School through May of this
year.

International
Organizational Development Association (Mexico City) In September 2005,
Creative Leaps International will perform a specially-designed Concert of Ideas
as a keynote event of the 2005 international conference of the International
Organizational Development Association (IODA). The conference, to be held in
Mexico City, is
expected to focus on leadership, social consciousness, and creativity. While in
Mexico City,
Creative Leaps will also perform at the International Cervantes Festival, which
will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of the writing of Cervantes'
masterpiece The Adventures of Don
Quixote. This is another theme with which the Creative Leaps team has
a great deal of experience…and plenty of enthusiasm!
